Semiconductor devices are the basis of integrated circuits and electronic information technology, involving many fields such as the national economy and people's livelihood, promoting the development of modern social science and technology, and having an extremely important impact in all walks of life. Moreover, semiconductor devices are also an important foundation to support the development of industries such as 5G communications and artificial intelligence chips.
The main purpose of the course is to understand the development process and development trend of modern semiconductor device technology; to understand the basic structure and physical principles of typical semiconductor devices; to master the main process fabrication technology of various semiconductor devices, to understand the impact of process fabrication technology on the performance of devices; to follow the development trend of modern semiconductor integrated circuits; to cultivate scientific thinking methods for analyzing and solving problems in semiconductor device processing.
Teaching faculty:
Gang Niu, PhD in Electronics Electrics and Automation, a German Humboldt Fellow, an IEEE senior member, a PhD supervisor, is a professor in the School of Electronic Science and Engineering of Xi'an Jiaotong University, China.
His main research fields fall in the new information-functional nano-films and devices for "post-Moore" integrated circuits. He was awarded the title of German Mercator scholar and Chinese Institute of Electronics Outstanding Scientific and Technological Scientist.
Wei Wang, PhD in Microelectronics and Solid-State Electronics, a PhD supervisor, is an associate professor in the School of Electronic Science and Engineering of Xi'an Jiaotong University, China.
His main research fields fall in the wide-band gap semiconductor materials and devices.
