报告人简介 (Biography of the Invited Speaker) Dr. Florentin Smarandache, is now a university professor at University of New Mexico, Gallup Campus, New Mexico, USA. He was Born on December 10, 1954, in Balcesti city, Romania. He graduated from the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Craiova in 1979 first of his class graduates, earned a Ph. D. in Mathematics from the State University Moldova at Kishinev in 1997, and continued postdoctoral studies at various American Universities such as University of Phoenix, University of Texas at Austin, etc. after emigration. In U.S. he worked as a software engineer for Honeywell (1990-1995), adjunct professor for Pima Community College (1995-1997), in 1997 Assistant Professor at the University of New Mexico, Gallup Campus, promoted to Associate Professor of Mathematics in 2003, and to full professor in 2008. Between 2007-2009 he was the Chair of Math & Sciences Department. For two months, June-July 2009, he was a Visiting Research Professor for Air Force Research Laboratory in Rome, NY, USA (under SUNY IT). Also, Research Professor at ENSIETA (National Superior School of Engineers and Study of Armament), Brest, France, 15 May - 22 July 2010. Dr. Florentin Smarandache is a polymath: as author, co-author, translator, co-translator, editor, or co-editor of 160 books and 200 scientific papers and notes. he published in many fields, such as mathematics (number theory, statistics, non-Euclidean geometry), computer science (artificial intelligence, information fusion), physics (quantum physics, particle physics), economics (cultural economics, poly-emporium theory), philosophy (neutrosophy – a generalization of dialectics, neutrosophic logic – a generalization of intuitionistic fuzzy logic), social sciences (political essays), literature (poetry, prose, essays, novel, dramas, children plays, translations), arts (avant-garde/experimental drawings, collages, paintings). In research fields of information fusion, he proposed neutrosophic probability and neutrospohic sets. He, together with Jean Dezert, generalized the Dempster-Shafer Theory to a new theory of plausible and paradoxist fusion (Dezert-Smarandache Theory).
