Changyun Wen received his B.Eng from Xi’an Jiaotong University, China in July 1983 and Ph.D from the University of Newcastle, Australia in Feb 1990. From August 1989 to August 1991, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Adelaide, Australia. Since August 1991, he has been with the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Nanyang Technological University , where he is currently a Full Professor.

He is the Founder of IEEE Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications (ICIEA), which has about 500 delegates in each ICIEA conference.
He has made the Chinese Control and Decision Conference more internationalized by bringing it to the worldwide control community. Owing to his efforts,
the number of delegates increased from less than 100 in CCDC conferences of 2007 and earlier to more than 500 in 2008 CCDC. 2009 CCDC received over 2100 full-paper submissions.]
His main research activities are in the areas of adaptive control, switching and impulsive systems, system identification, multidimensional systems and chaotic systems, bio-medical signal processing and bio-medical control system.
